Q.43: We have received below response on a query:
Response to Sub-Query-1:
Generally, if KYC is done with any KRA, it will be visible in the public domain itself. So, if it is already appearing as KYC “done” in any of the KRAs then, no further action is required.
If such client is not having status of “KYC” done in any of the KRAs then, proceed to upload the KYC records with your KRA (where you registered as RIA / Intermediary).
Note: Why there is no mention of CKYC verification of such client. That is most important and mandatory today. So, please check with CKYC portal also and then proceed accordingly. Hope you registered with CKYC as an RIA / Intermediary.
We have following follow up questions on the above response:
- Are individuals required to register with CERSAI?
- Is yes, then can you help with the process to register as an individual (sole proprietor) RIA?
Response :
Response to Sub-Query-1:
Yes, Individual RIA is also required to register with CERSAI as Intermediary.
Response to Sub-Query-2:
There should be 1 Head of the Institution (Head) and 1 Nodal Officer/Authorised Signatory (Admin)
Note: Friendly suggestion – In case of no employee or associate, then you may add your adult family member as the additional person required as above.
There are two websites:
- Live Website : https://www.ckycindia.in/ckyc/index.php
- Testbed portal (Test portal) : https://testbed.ckycindia.in/ckyc/index.php
Register and obtain the login credentials for Testbed portal, on which series of activities need to be done and the testing checklist completed. Once all ok, CKYCR will give Test sign-off (approval) confirmation. Post this, the Application for registration with complete set of documents need to be submitted.
